Counselling & Emotional Wellbeing
Sometimes life feels overwhelming. Having someone who will listen, understand and walk alongside you can make a real difference.
Health Support Plus offers a caring, confidential space where you can talk through life's challenges, explore your thoughts and feelings, and work towards positive change at your own pace.
We support individuals across Ballina, Lismore and the Northern Rivers, with counselling available in your home or online.
Support through life's challenges
We all face times when we need extra support. You might be dealing with a difficult situation, adjusting to change, or simply feeling that things aren't quite right.
Counselling provides an opportunity to be heard without judgement and to work through the things that matter most to you.
Areas we may be able to help with include:
- Stress, worry and anxiety
- Grief, loss and major life changes
- Relationship and family difficulties
- Low confidence and self-esteem
- Emotional wellbeing and coping strategies
- Adjusting to disability or changing circumstances
- Building resilience and personal confidence
Our approach begins with listening and understanding your individual circumstances, rather than assuming that everyone needs the same solution.
Counselling that puts you first
Good counselling is built on trust, respect and a genuine understanding of the person.
A listening ear
A supportive, non-judgemental space where you can speak openly about your experiences, concerns and hopes.
Support that suits you
We take time to understand your situation, goals and preferences, and work with you on a way forward.
Practical steps forward
Counselling can help you develop helpful strategies, gain fresh perspectives and build confidence in everyday life.
Counselling in your home or online
Accessing counselling should be as straightforward and comfortable as possible.
Health Support Plus offers individual counselling through flexible arrangements, including:
- In-home counselling: Support in familiar surroundings, where suitable and available.
- Online counselling: Speak with your counsellor remotely from a private, comfortable location.
We work with people in Ballina, Lismore, Lennox Head, Alstonville, Byron Bay and surrounding Northern Rivers communities.
If you're unsure which arrangement would suit you best, we can discuss the available options.
Counselling for private clients and NDIS participants
You don't need to be an NDIS participant to enquire about counselling with Health Support Plus. We welcome enquiries from individuals seeking private counselling, as well as people living with disability who may benefit from additional emotional and personal support.
Private counselling
For individuals who would like professional support with emotional wellbeing, personal challenges, relationships, loss or difficult life circumstances.
Support for NDIS participants
For people living with disability who may benefit from counselling or related wellbeing support, where the service is appropriate to their needs and funding arrangements.
Not all counselling is funded by the NDIS. Funding depends on the participant's individual plan, the nature of the support and applicable NDIS requirements. General mental health treatment is ordinarily provided through the mainstream health system.
